Ghost Walks - exploring darker stories behind the tourist trail

Beneath the streets of the Town and Cities visited across the South lies a darker history of murder, mystery and mayhem. Behind every aged door lies secrets of one-time occupants who lived, worked and died while visitors flurry by - unnoting of the blood stained handle, the moving curtain, or the shadow lurking in the doorway. 

For over 15 years the Theatre of Dark Encounters have brought those stories to life with immersive story telling on the streets of ancient towns and cities. Through imaginative re-imaging the stories are told by the ghosts themselves and you are dragged back into a world now forgotten. Each ghost tour has its own story and time period. through which the stories are told. You will not find Tudor characters wearing Tricorn hats talking about mobile phones and the Second World War on these tours; from the minute you join you are engulfed in an immersive experience with sights, smells and sounds of the period we have taken you back to. These are truly immersive theatrical experiences as you will become part of the story told by the characters as they bring you into their lives, experiences and stories. How the group responds to the interaction will affect the outcome, experience and even route of the tour - so that each ghost walk is a truly unique experience.
