Our storytellers will guide you through the Brickworks' dark and forbidding corridors, dodging shadows at every turn. Uncover ghostly tales, from the phantom footsteps echoing in the cavernous drying sheds to the spirits of Victorian workers still toiling away in the dark. Highlights
Join a guided, theatrical ghost tour of the dimly lit Victorian factory floors, drying sheds, and towering kilns, infused with our signature hangman’s humour.
Experience real history as you separate fact from fiction, exploring the harsh reality of 19th-century industrial life and the tragic accidents that occurred on the factory floor. Hear the tales of the unseen entities who haunt the machinery, from lost Victorian children to shadowy laborers, and the eerie incidents left in their wake.
What to bring
Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes (we will be travelling only on the Ground Floor of the Brickworks)
Weather-appropriate clothing (the Brickworks is generally very cold)
A personal torch/flashlight
Know before you go
Check-in: Please arrive no more than 5–10 minutes before the advertised start time.
Parking: There is a large car park just in front of the Kiln Chimney off Coal Park Lane.
Toilets: Because of time restraints there is not time for the public to stop for toilet breaks before the tour starts.
Accessibility: While the museum is generally accessible, this specific after-dark tour involves extremely low-level lighting and uneven historic factory floors.
Age restrictions: This tour is not suitable for children under 12.
