The ancient medieval of Priory of Michelham is the largest moated island in England. Its atmospheric shell was converted in to a home after the dissolution of the monastery - but the presence of the monks remains; from their guiding visitors from the Gatehouse, to disappearing into long demolished cloisters. From the ghostly voices of children's play to foot steps in empty rooms - every part of the Priory has a story to tell.
For our journey around the Priory we take you back to 1896 and James Gwynne has just moved into his new home, the magnificent Michelham Priory near Hailsham. But as he begins his restoration he uncovers secrets that had been hidden for generations. As these come to light something else is disturbed - spirits that intended being left in peace!
As you make your way around the Priory by torchlight, these secrets emerge from the shadows, and the story of the Priory is revealed. From tales of monks, murder, and treason; mysteries revealed from those that lived and died at this unique location.
This tour is intended for adults so we would NOT recommend anyone younger that 12 years (attended with an adult). With low level lights, stairs and jump scares aplenty you will never see Michelham in the same way again.
